Monitoring & Evaluation

The APRM, through Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting aims to deepen democratic practices, strengthen achievements, disseminate best practices, and rectify underlying deficiencies in governance and socioeconomic development among the AU Member States. The APRM framework’s purpose is to encourage and build transformational leadership through a self-assessment process, constructive peer dialogue, and the sharing of information and common experiences. Thus, one of the APRM’s main objectives is to reinforce successful and exemplary practices among African states. The APRM is a commitment to African governance standards and the tool for implementing the codes and standards enshrined in the Declaration on Democracy, Political, Economic and Corporate Governance.
